The challenge of the project was not simply to modernize the aesthetics of Studio Zerbey’s website, but to redefine and elevate the firm’s entire brand presence.

The Zerbeys wanted a visual identity and digital experience that reflected the quality and intentionality of their work while still feeling approachable, collaborative, and deeply personal. In a field where many architecture websites rely on gorgeous imagery but little personality, the goal was to create a brand that captured both the beauty of the finished homes and the warmth and trust built throughout the design process.

At the same time, the new site needed to rebuild the firm’s organic visibility after years of relying on blog-driven SEO that had gradually lost traction.

Branding Studio Zerbey

The branding work became a major part of the transformation.

Bizango developed a completely new logo and visual identity system inspired by architectural space itself — drawing from cubic geometry, dimensional layering, and the feeling of moving through light-filled environments.

Warm, earthy tones replaced colder minimalist palettes often seen in contemporary architecture branding, helping the firm feel more human and inviting. On the website, subtle animated color transitions and shifting gradients introduced a slightly psychedelic, atmospheric quality that gave the experience energy and movement without overwhelming the work itself.

The result was a brand that felt sophisticated and modern, but also emotional, immersive, and distinctly reflective of Studio Zerbey’s design philosophy.

Redesigning the Website

From the beginning, the project centered on balancing sophistication with humanity.

The new visual direction embraced large-scale architectural photography, immersive whitespace, subtle motion, and editorial-style pacing, while avoiding the coldness or sterility often associated with luxury architecture sites.

The team explored how to create a more emotionally engaging experience — one that reflected the Zerbeys’ belief that great architecture is not imposed on clients, but developed alongside them through trust, conversation, and long-term partnership.

The resulting website leaned into narrative storytelling rather than a traditional portfolio grid alone. Instead of simply showcasing projects, the homepage guides visitors through Studio Zerbey’s philosophy, process, and personality before immersing them in the work itself. Subtle animations, layered layouts, curated imagery, and planned video integration helped create a sense of movement and atmosphere inspired by the homes they design.

Throughout the process, the project became as much about articulating the firm’s identity as it was about web design — defining a brand that feels refined and design-forward, yet grounded, personal, and unmistakably Pacific Northwest.
