TOP FAQ's

March 10, 2014

Every Bizango client has questions -- you inevitably will, too!  We work with each and every client individually from the start; from understanding the design process to the specifics of getting a new site launched to marketing the new site.  Its our job to help our clients through the process of creating a website and marketing it.

Over the years, we’ve collected frequently asked questions by our clients.  Here they are:

When should I give you my photos?

Ideally, we would like to have your photos at the kick-off meeting, or soon after.  Our designs are often structured around client photos, so having the photos before we begin doing your design concepts is important to keep the project moving forward.

What if I don’t have good photos?

Great photography can help you sell your product and entice the kind of upscale customers you want.  Hiring a photographer to take professional photos of your products, work space, and of you and your staff is worth the investment and we highly recommend that you do it if you can.  But the reality is, not everyone has the time or budget to hire a photographer, or your site might not need original photography.  In these instances, using stock photography is great alternative.  If you choose to use stock photography for your project, take a moment to read our Stock Photo Resource blog post

What about my website’s content or writing?

The written content of your website should not just tell your story or advertise your product, but it should inspire your site visitors to contact you. If writing has never been your strong suit, you can read our tips on  writing copy for the web, or hire someone to do copywriting for you.

What if I want to change something about the design after its been signed-off?

Once a design has been signed-off, we begin the next phase of your project.  Going back to the design after sign-off can be a more laborious process, because any design changes would also mean not just changing the design, but possibly the site structure and programming also.  It is possible to make design changes after the sign-off, but we would charge our hourly rate for any design changes on top of any flat bid price, and the launch date would be delayed.

How long will my project take?

How long a project takes largely depends on 2 things:  the scale of the project and how efficiently we work together.

Larger projects take longer, typically 2-4 months, sometimes more.  Smaller projects can take about 4-6 weeks.

We schedule project work a week in advance, so if we haven’t gotten our feedback from you within a week of our delivery, your next deliverable from us may fall into the following week.  For projects that are on a tight time-line, we encourage our clients to provide us with their feedback within 48 hours.  That way, we can be sure to keep our schedule on track and turn-around times to a minimum.

What if I do something wrong using the Easy Update Tools?  Will I break my site?

Don’t worry -- you won’t break the CMS or your site.  We want you to play around with the Easy Update Tools because that’s how you will learn to use it and be comfortable with it.

What if I don’t know where I bought my domain name?

Your domain name (the URL or address of your website, like www.bizango.com) needs to be purchased by a domain name registrar, such as GoDaddy or Register.com.  If you can’t remember where you bought your domain name, we can help you find out.  You will need this information so that we can change your DNS settings to make your new site live.  Remember:  you need to renew your domain name yearly.  If you forget, you risk loosing your domain name.

What about my email?

We do not host email.  If you already have an email provider, and want to remain with them we will keep your email settings unchanged when we switch your DNS to bring your new site up live.  Your email should not be disrupted. If you want to change email providers, we can help give you a list of providers to choose from.

What if I have a problem with my website once its done?

In the rare event that your site goes down, we consider this an urgent matter and encourage you to call us.  We will  find the source of the problem and help you fix it.

If there’s something about your site that just isn’t acting the way you might expect, or if you just have questions, please send us an email.  We’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot these sorts of issues.
